Bartram Trail - Warwoman Dell - Courthouse Gap, Rabun Co. GA

Today's hike was on the Bartram Trail from Warwoman Dell to one mile beyond Courthouse Gap. The terrain is rated moderately rolling.

TRAIL INFO. - This portion of the Bartram Trail is very nice with historical Warwoman Dell Park as the starting point. The trail rolls through the mountains passing two outstanding waterfalls and nice mountain views along the way. Even though you are in the mountains, much of the trail travels along flat ridges. We hiked from Warwoman Dell to a point one mile beyond Courthouse Gap. Total Hiking distance - 9+ miles.

Directions: Trail access - Take Highway 884 East from Clayton, GA for 5 miles or so on Warwoman Road and look for the Warwoman Dell sign on the right and turn right and park in the first parking area. Walk a short distance up the road and you will see the trail leading to the right. Follow the yellow trail markers.

Another great day for a hike! Fair with temperatures ranging from 30 to 40 F.

BIRDS IDENTIFIED: Pileated Woodpecker, Dark-eyed Junco, American Crow and Carolina Chickadee.
