The Bartram Trail, Rabun County, GA from Sandy Ford Rd. to Dicks Creek Falls and Northward

Today's hike Started at the intersection of the Bartram Trail and Sandy Ford Rd. in Rabun Co., GA. Hiking northward, we took the side trail to Dicks Creek Falls and back to the Bartram trail northward.

TRAIL INFORMATION - A very pleasant and beautiful Hike in the North GA mountains. Dicks Creek Falls as it empties into the roaring Chattooga River is a sight to see! The Bartram Trail northward is very nice with great river views and only moderately hilly. Hurricane Irma toppled lots of trees but the trail has been cleared on the portion that we hiked.

Directions: Take Warwoman Road 5.9 miles from Clayton, GA, turning right onto Sandy Ford Road and traveling 0.6 mi. down Sandy Ford Road, turning left and crossing a concrete bridge, then procede 3.3 miles further on Sandy Ford Road to a ford of Dick's Creek, then up to the top of the next hill, you will find a nice parking area.

Another great day for a hike! Partly Cloudy and cool with temperatures ranging in the upper 40's F to mid 50's.

WILDFLOWERS: Blue Lobelia, Goldenrod, White and Blue Asters, Gentian, Spotted Jewelweed.

BIRDS IDENTIFIED: Crow, Pilieated Woodpecker, Tuffted Titmouse, White-breasted Nuthatch, Blue Jay.
